Introduction | intake

Before creating an interior design, I will visit you for a brief, free introduction (15 minutes) at your home*. During this meeting, we will briefly discuss your design wishes and I will introduce myself.

After my visit, I will send you a questionnaire to get to know you and your living situation better. I want to know who you are, how you live, where you go on vacation, what your favorite time of the day is, etc. Not because I’m curious, but because this helps me get to know you better and allows me to create a design that truly fits you — one that you can enjoy for years to come.

I will then send you a proposal with my plan of action.

If you decide to go ahead with the design, we will have an in-depth intake meeting at your home.

*Depending on the distance, the first introduction may be by phone.

Interior design:

After the intake, I will first create a mood board to visualize the atmosphere of the new interior that aligns with your taste and style. From there, I will work on the color and materials plan that I intend to use in your space. This approach helps you better understand why certain materials and furniture will (or won’t) fit into the design.

I will also create a floor plan. Starting with traffic flow and sightlines, I take a conceptual approach to come up with creative solutions you might not have thought of yourself.

Next, I will develop the color/materials plan and furniture layout. I will also bring samples for you to see and touch.

Further interior design development:

3D design

Once you’ve chosen the layout that appeals to you most, I can develop this in 3D, providing a realistic image of what it will look like.

Lighting plan

From the chosen layout, I will create a complete lighting plan. This includes a plan for basic lighting, mood lighting, and task lighting, along with the corresponding fixtures that match the interior design.

Custom Drawings

If your design includes custom work, such as a bespoke wall of cabinets, dining bench, kitchen, bathroom, or anything else, I can provide detailed drawings and material recommendations so that the furniture maker can get started. I collaborate with my trusted furniture maker, Moonmade, which ensures I can oversee the realization of your custom pieces as well.

Throughout the process, we will have several presentations and consultation meetings to ensure you are fully involved in the design and that we arrive at a beautiful final result.
